Common questions first - if the answer is not here, write to us and we will reply.

Are my documents uploaded to a server?

No. Every tool runs inside your browser using local processing, so the file never leaves your device. That also means the tools keep working on a slow connection.

Is there a file size limit?

The practical limit is your device memory. Documents up to roughly 100 MB work comfortably on a modern laptop or phone; very large scanned files may take longer to compress.

Which formats are supported?

PDF for all editing and organising tools, plus JPG and PNG for image conversion in both directions. Text extraction produces a plain .txt file.

Why does compression turn text into an image?

Strong compression rebuilds each page as an optimised image, which is what makes heavy scans small enough to email. Choose the Light level when you need the text layer to stay searchable.

Can I open password-protected PDFs?

Documents with light restrictions usually open fine. Files encrypted with an open password must be unlocked in your PDF reader first.

Which browsers work best?

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile. Keeping the tab in the foreground while a job runs gives the fastest result.

Still stuck?

Email support@mobipdf.org with the tool name and what you expected to happen. Please do not attach confidential documents - a screenshot is usually enough.
